Pre-filters are replaced every 6–12 months and the membrane every 2–3 years. We set the schedule together at installation based on water quality and consumption.
Well water may have high TDS, iron and limescale; 5–6 stage reverse osmosis and softening if needed are recommended. If chlorine and sediment dominate in mains water, robust pre-filters may suffice. A free water analysis gives the definitive answer.
Membrane cleaning is recommended when production capacity drops by 15% or differential pressure rises by 15%. Periodic cleaning with acid and alkali chemicals extends membrane life.
A reverse osmosis unit installs under the counter and delivers purified water from a separate tap. A purified water dispenser is a countertop unit with cooling/heating; it suits offices and showrooms. Both use the same filtration principle.
